How Hydro Started
Founded on a simple observation
Hydro was founded in 2012 by Chandos Erwin and Buster Pike.
We've known each other since high school, racing sailboats, and later through college at Brown and the University of Rhode Island. We both found our way early into the internet and technology world, working across digital product, marketing, and systems as the space was taking shape.
After years inside large agencies and complex client organizations, we saw the same issue over and over again: smart thinking at the top, but not enough senior attention once it was time to build.
Hydro was created to fix that — by keeping experienced people close to the work and treating execution as a first-class responsibility, not a downstream task.
