Simplifying healthcare and empowering members through educational videos

Health Net approached Hydro to create video content with the goals of educating current members about their benefits, boosting brand awareness for potential members, and providing crucial information about Medi-Cal. A top Medi-Cal provider, Health Net needed easy-to-absorb content that would inform and engage their audience, many of whom speak English as a second language.

We began our work with Health Net by creating a series of animated “chalkboard” videos dispensing digestible information about the basics of health insurance, and how members can get the most out of their plan.

We then conceptualized “Dr. Linda,” a cheerful, animated, bilingual doctor with a trove of easily understood information about Medi-Cal and its benefits. We produced three animated videos starring Dr. Linda (accompanied by a cast of relatable characters) to share information about the basics of Medi-Cal, dental care, and transportation benefits. In the videos, Dr. Linda invites viewers into an informational booklet about each Medi-Cal subject, which comes to life as she explores each page.
